Version 0.06 - Skillz

Hi guys! This update is a little small, but I was mainly working on skills and scripts the whole time. Anyways, here everything;

- Skills - You can now use skills that use MP! Theres two at the moment, flirt and powershot (this uses the gun). BTW this took forever to make and then I felt like an idiot because the script was simple to make lol.

- Status Effects - I added status effects, they have a little symbol in the status bar. (The two look the exact same but one is covered in slime and the other is indecent).

- Masturbate - You can now be the master of bating by going to a bed. This also reduces your AR (arousal).

- Scrapyard Boss - I added a boss to the scrapyard. Very simple one and it uses the slime's moveset for now.

- Lust skills - Moves like flirt do lust damage to the enemy which can end the battle in a submission where the player can dominate the enemy. There will be scenes for this too soon!

- Defence - Enemies now have defence. The player does too but that will be affected by certain outfit which I'll add soon.

- Unique Dialogue - The fox has unique dialogue if you're wearing certain outfits.

- Story updates - After defeating the scrapyard boss, you can get the fox to repair your ship.

- Spelling - I fixed some of the main / general lines of dialogue o everything is much neater and not a jumble of words. Also not to make an excuse but my keyboard also just spams keys sometimes so it's not entirely my fault for being bad at spelling... right?

That was everything! I hope you all enjoy the update. Also, my internet has been horrible lately so I haven't really been on itch much, but I'll try to respond to comments as soon as I can!

Also thanks to @Busyman4this for helping me find bugs and errors!

Bugs:

If you encounter an enemy just as you enter the map exit tile, you will skip the encounter, but end up frozen on the next map over. Bricks Autosave

Pressing ESC during dialogue with either NPCs with paper dolls causes a very strange visual glitch.

The supplies aren't actually taken out of the player's inventory after completing the quest for Fox.

General thoughts:

The Powershot isn't really that worthwhile right now, it does...8-9 damage to the base pistol's 8-7. Though I suspect balance wasn't the focus for this.

I'm not quite sure how you'll approach NPC romance/scenes, but playing through the patch made me think there's a missed opportunity with not being able to report back to Fox after getting the Scrapyard key.  I thought it would be interested if once the topic of "the boss"/El Shark gets brought up and the player is given a choice of either lying and saying they beat up/killed them (the latter would be funny if Fox  could encounter El Shark later on, and comment on it if you choose this), or tell Fox the truth. Fox's reaction to the truth I'm kinda clueless on, but I thought a simple comfort/sympathetic hug/kiss would fit her. I did think of a reaction where she's really concerned, and asks if she did anything beyond kissing the player, which upon finding out they didn't, she acts excited for a second, then stops herself and goes back to being concerned/sympathetic, but still clearly happy that El Shark didn't have "actual" sex with the player. I think you know Fox's character better than me, so I'll leave their reaction up to you. Speaking of Fox, I think there's something up with her tail sprite, as it looks nothing like the Fox tail of the player race.

That encounter bug is still appearing? Is it in a specific spot or just anywhere? The script I wrote is supposed to make sure the player can't move and it'll check if they are in-battle or not. I'll do some testing on this, the other bugs I'll also fix.

Also with the skills I do plan on buffing them. Each type of weapon will have a unique skill, (powershot is for guns). I honestly just wanted to make some simple ones for now, just to know that they work, because most of the scripting was done by me and not the RPG maker skills menu. The only thing I didn't make was the skill selection screen.

I was actually thinking of letting the two meet, probably as a side activity but nonetheless I think it would add some more interactions between characters. I also think the idea of the fox becoming concerned about the player adds a certain depth to her. BTW with the fox, I was planning on making her a big character in the game, and I use they because I was thinking of hiding her gender but I might just keep it ambiguous until the player leaves the wasteland for the first time, then she'll reveal it. She's kinda like a guide to the player in a way, that's basically why I made her.

With the tail sprite, (I forgot to say this last time lol) I was going for a flowy kind of tail. It looks more like hair than a tail now that I look at it but I could fix this.

I'll fix these later today, I haven't had much time to work on things because of summer school and tests but I'll get everything fixed up as soon as I can. Thanks!

Aah, that makes sense with Fox. I had assumed that Fox and El Shark were going to be more or less the "tutorial"/Starter NPCs and wouldn't appear past that, but if she's a long-term character then it gives more opportunities to build up her and the player. I kind of guessed it was supposed to be ambiguous, with an eventual reveal later. I was going to suggest some kind of optional shower peaking scene, like after the player gets the key from El Shark, Fox isn't downstairs, and if you go upstairs, the bathroom door is closed, with an option to peak through and spy on Fox. Though if you plan on Fox revealing her gender to the player later, a voyeur scene like this might not work, especially if she catches the player. I suppose a shower scene could later on, if Fox leaves the planet (speaking of which, is she going to ride-along in the player's ship, or rather just appear on her own on future planets?)

I actually like that idea, I could definitely add it in between that section where you get the key and then when you go into the scrapyard. You just gave me an idea for a day and night cycle. Certain things could happen at certain times of the day like the fox idling in the kitchen, showering, sleeping, etc.

And also I do plan on having NPCs tag along on your ship. Probably not in combat but for exploration.

Here's what I got so far; Still gotta make new face sprites but I'll probably add more little scenes like this! This will be a nighttime event.

Hey I was looking into this. I think it's something with the loading zones and the encounter chips I think they're called? It's pretty much a region ID which checks where the player is. I was using these for the encounters and I had them pretty close to the loading zones so I just spaced them out so you shouldn't be able to exit an area while in battle. Thanks for letting me know!
